South Cheshire 'George Formby' Ukulele Society performs a Concert at Wistaston Memorial Hall (Church Lane, Wistaston CW2 8ER) on a Friday once a month throughout the year.
There are no membership fees to pay to attend a Concert and the entrance fee is just £1 at the door to cover the cost of hall rent and light refreshments midway through the show. The curtain goes up at 7:30pm prompt.
The year started with a well-supported Concert on Friday 25th January. The remaining 2019 Friday Concert dates are: 22nd February, 22nd March, 26th April, 24th May, 28th June, 26th July, 23rd August, 27th September, 25th October, 22nd November, and 20th December. The Society also play each year over the Easter weekend at the annual Nantwich Jazz, Blues & Music Festival http://nantwichjazz.com/ .
There are also rehearsal sessions, to which new ukulele players are always welcome, at Wistaston Memorial Hall on a Tuesday (7:30pm) once a month throughout the year. The remaining 2019 rehearsal dates are: 19th February, 19th March, 16th April, 21st May, 18th June, 16th July, 20th August, 17th September, 15th October, and 19th November.
South Cheshire 'George Formby' Ukulele Society was founded by Brian Edge in 1994 - this year is their 25th anniversary. Brian Edge, who passed away in 2016, was a stalwart of the local community who also formed the Crewe & District Coin and Medal Society and founded the National Token Congress.

South Cheshire 'George Formby' Ukulele Society are also involved in a ‘Celebration Of The 70th Anniversary Of Wistaston Memorial Hall’ at Wistaston Memorial Hall on Tuesday 26th March 2019 (7:30pm). The event will include Crewe Movie Makers and present a night of entertainment, both live and on film, celebrating Wistaston Memorial Hall’s 70 years among the community.
