Bike Breakfast at the station

Christian Concern in partnership with Pumpkin, Ritazza and Upper Crust food outlets on Crewe Train Station have organised a hot drink for 50 cyclists to celebrate ’National Cycle to work day 2014’.

This follows last year’s successful cycling breakfast  when more than 40 local people shared stories, tips and ideas for travel at Christian Concern Cycles at St. Pauls.

CC-Cycles volunteers will hand out vouchers for a free hot drink to 50 fortunate cyclists as they arrive at the station on the 4th September.

The food outlet manager, Karen Morrey said “We are really pleased to contribute to the healthy, filling breakfasts that cycling travellers need to get to work”.

Rev Rob Wykes, Christian Concern Director said “ Crewe is a fantastic place to cycle, you’re never more that 3 miles from one side to the other, no parking problem, no missed trains.”

Virgin Trains at Crewe have also been collecting abandoned bikes to be renovated by CC Cycles volunteers. With the increasing popularity of combining the ease of cycling with the speed of trains there are more cyclists using the station than ever, and some get forgotten! CC Cycles refurbishes them for local people to use, including workers at the station. [see attached photo]
