Two Crewe businesses have raised almost £400 by competing in a charity football match for Children in Need.
Local Peugeot dealership, Gateway Motor Company, recently lined up against a team from Mornflake, Crewe Alexandra Football Club’s official shirt sponsors.
Locals were welcomed down to the Cumberland Arena, on Thomas Street, for a 6.30pm start and Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear, was on hand to collect donations.
Children in Need is the official partner for Peugeot UK and its dealer network, and Gateway Motor Company is fundraising throughout 2013 to help raise vital funds for the cause.
Gateway’s general manager, Alex Walker, said: “We’re a dealership full of footy fans and we wanted to host a charity match to kick-off our fundraising for Children in Need.
“The match was an exciting encounter even though we were beaten 3-0 by Mornflake. We want to say a huge thank you to all of our family, friends and customers who came to cheer us on from the sidelines and dug deep for the cause.”
