Police appeal for sightings of missing Alsager woman

Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of an Alsager woman who has not been seen since yesterday.

Janet Marper, 52 years of age, lives in Alsager. She was reported missing by her concerned family on the afternoon of Thursday 4 July 2013 when they could not get in contact with her. It is uncharacteristic of Janet to go missing and police and her family are concerned for her welfare and safety.

Janet is a white woman, around 5′ tall, and very thin in build. She has a thin face with distinctive cheek bones and prominent front teeth. Her hair is brown and shoulder length, with grey roots showing. She may be wearing a blue and grey waterproof jacket, black trousers with frayed hems, and black trainers with thick white soles. She may have with her an "over the shoulder" brown / tan leather handbag. Janet′s general appearance may be unkempt.

Police are exploring a possible sighting of Janet at a shop in Church Lawton at around 1500 hours on Thursday 4 July 2013, but are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Janet recently, or can provide information regarding her movements over the last week. Janet also has knowledge of the Stoke / Kidsgrove areas and may well travel there.

Police are also appealing to Janet herself to make contact with police or her family to provide the re-assurance that she is safe and well.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crewe Police on the non emergency number, 101, quoting incident number 625 of 04/07/2013.
