The latest stage of the Local Plan consultation has now come to an end and it is estimated that over 10,000 comments have been submitted to Cheshire East Council for consideration.
The Development Strategy and Policy Principles consultation ran for six weeks between Tuesday, January 15, and Tuesday, February 26.
Residents and other interested communities were encouraged to get involved and have their say as this consultation focused upon key sites identified as suitable for development in Cheshire East.
Once comments have been analysed and recorded they will feature on the Council’s website at: www.cheshireeast.gov.uk/localplan
However, this process is anticipated to take a number of weeks due to the volume of responses received.
Councillor David Brown, Cabinet member in charge of strategic communities, said: “The strength of feeling around the Local Plan is evident in the number of comments that we have received during this stage of the consultation and we value the views of all who have taken part in the consultation.
“We will now analyse this feedback and use it to finalise the Cheshire East Development Strategy and create a sustainable, plan-led future for our Borough.
“The next consultation will be in the summer on the Core Strategy.”
