Learn the art of willow weaving at Queens Park, Crewe this summer.
On Sunday August 8, weavers from Eco-Arts in Leyland will be visiting to teach the traditional skill of interweaving willow branches to create artistic masterpieces.
You can make all kinds of decorative items from willow branches as they are so flexible.
They make attractive baskets, fences, chairs and sculptures. They also make ideal gifts with a rustic and personal touch.
Andrew Knowles, Cabinet member with responsibility for health and wellbeing said: “Weaving is highly skilled, but can also be a highly creative and relaxing hobby.
“If you like to work with natural materials and create something for your home of garden, then get yourself down to Queens Park to try it out.”
The taster session and demonstration will run from 2pm until 4pm.
