Local Borough Councillor Brian Silvester has welcomed planned road repairs in Shavington. He raised the problem with the Cheshire East Council after he had been contacted by a resident. Rope Lane, from its junction with Vine Tree Avenue, to its junction with Main Road, is to be closed from the 6th to the 9th of April for essential patching works. Cllr Silvester said, " The worst winter for 30 years has had a big impact on our local roads. The Cheshire East Council is working flat out to repair the damage done by the freezing weather. I am pleased that this major access route into the village and an important school route is being patched. If residents have concerns about potholes in their road they should contact one of their Councillors."
