“Lead the way” was the Mayor’s barking order after almost 60 dogs and their owners rallied to raise money for charity earlier this month.

The charity sources, trains and places dogs with people who have profound or severe hearing difficulties and is supported by the Mayor of Cheshire East, Councillor Margaret Simon.
It costs £7,500 to provide a qualifying individual with a specially trained dog.
Councillor Simon, who walked her own dog Maisie on the day, said: “We had such a wonderful afternoon and I am absolutely amazed at how much money we were able to raise.
“I would like to thank all of those involved on the day and everyone behind the scenes who made the event such a success.”
The money raised will be given to the Cheshire Fundraising Branch of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People who organised the walk.
The event is now in its third year and this time, attracted around 170 people.
